The CRIS Forums: Question and Answer

So what's your question?

What is CRIS?
CRIS is actually a very sucky ISP (aka Concentric) that most of us (The CRIS Forum community) used to have back in 1996-97. We used to go to a multiplayer part of our ISP called The Game Connection (GC as we call it) and play a game called WarCraft II against each other (there were other games people played, but the people in this forum mainly represent the WarCraft II part of GC). Eventually GC died since Concentric refused to upgrade and maintain it (they started a pay-per-hour online game service called Ten). Only a handfull of CRIS went to Kali to continue playing WarCraft II. The CRIS Community is now a good chuck of the people that left CRIS for Kali. The people listed under Kali in the main page represent the members of this forum we met through Kali (duh).

Isn't CRIS supposed to be long dead by now?
It is long dead by now. But we all still like to keep in touch, and since we don't talk to each other over Kali or battle.net much anymore DemiGod made this forum upon request so we can all communicate with each other conviently.

Who is in charge of maintaince of The CRIS Forums?
The bitch of a CRISer know as DemiGod. You can email him at demigod@hotmail.com or just post a message on the forum.

Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?
Yes, but only in the Message field (the part where you type the body of the message). If you don't know html all you really to know is how to link to a page. Just type:
<a href=http://link_location>Some text</a>
For example to link to Russp's page type
<a href=http://www.pevets.org>Russ's page</a>
Important Note: Never press the enter key while you are typing this stuff out; you'll get funny results. The italics tell you what to type and bold italics tell you what to substitute

Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a reply?
Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to reply to a message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document.

Why didn't my post show up?
Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Please reload your browser and it should then appear.

Where can I get the scripts for this program?
The scripts are written in Perl and created by Matt Wright. They are free to anyone who wishes to use them and you can get them as well as other scripts at: http://worldwidemart.com/scripts/. In addition you can download a Multi-Page addon to the script to break up a long page of messages into several smaller pages (as used in The CRIS Forums). Enjoy!
